KBUT Community Radio and The Center for the Arts proudly present an epic ‘80s dance extravaganza for all on Saturday, July 27! ADAPTIVE SPORTS CENTER
The Adaptive Sports Center provides exceptional outdoor adventure-based activities that enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families. Summer activities include mountain biking, hand-cycling (on-road and off-road), rafting, canoeing, paddleboarding, hiking, camping, rock climbing, and our challenge course. We custom-tailor adventures for families, groups, and individuals. This summer we are hosting a Ladies Session camp June 28 – July 2 and the Adaptive Mountain Biking World Championships August 16-18. The Adaptive Sports Center hosts this annual two-day event to raise funds for their program, providing life-enhancing adventures for people with disabilities. The fundraiser starts with an evening Gala Dinner on Sunday, August 4 and a Golf Tournament on Monday, August 5 at the Club at Crested Butte. August 2-4: This summer, the Crested Butte Arts Festival returns to its historic venue on Elk Avenue! The Crested Butte Library resides in the Old Rock building, a two-story, two-room schoolhouse built in 1883. The beautiful Old Rock Community Library, a branch of the Gunnison County Library District, was open for business on June 22, 1993. Governor Roy Romer dedicated the Old Rock Community Library on September 21, 1993, 110 years after the Old Rock was built. Today the Crested Butte Library provides modern library services and programs. The Crested Butte Museum preserves, shares and celebrates the history and traditions of Crested Butte and the Gunnison Valley. The Crested Butte Public Policy Forum has been bringing distinguished speakers to the valley on issues of international, national and local significance since 2003. Its mission is to promote civic dialogue, debate and community engagement. Each Tuesday, beginning June 18 through August 13 – with a break during the July 4th holiday week. No Forum on July 2. The Forum will present a speaker with recognized expertise on a topic of significant importance and interest. The Forum values possibilities and solutions by presenting balanced information, steering away from the divisiveness that dominates much of today’s policy discourse. UPPER GUNNISON RIVER WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT
The Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District (UGRWCD) invites you to join in the following Summer 2024 activities: Friday, June 21: The Gunnison River Festival will host the Taylor Downriver Race on the Taylor River in Almont at 4:30 p.m. Title sponsor is the UGRWCD. Kayakers and rafters are welcome! Saturday, June 22: The Gunnison River Festival will be held at the Gunnison Whitewater Park on the Gunnison River beginning at 10 a.m. with boating fun, live music, food and product vendors and family activities. Monday, June 24: Come celebrate the UGRWCD’s 65th Anniversary with a party in the parking lot at 210 West Spencer Avenue with free food, ice cream and cake: beer, wine and Kool-Aid; live music with Evelyn Roper and her band and historical insights. Saturday, July 13: The Gunnison River Festival will feature SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) at Lake San Cristobal in Lake City hosted by the Lake Fork Valley Conservancy. Join the West Elk Soccer Association for fun, high quality soccer programming this summer! WESA believes that every player is unique and we coach based on players needs. No one coaching method fits all. Our coaches have been through nationally recognized courses along with in-house training to make them knowledgeable coaches on current coaching methods. Programs are available for players ages 8-18 through June, July, and August. Advanced registration is required.
